About Me

Jonathan C. Hout is a director, cinematographer, editor, and designer who originally hails from Lexington, KY. While he discovered his love for storytelling at a young age, he could never have known how far it would take him. From the beaches of Virginia to the mountains of eastern Europe, he’s always looking forward to his next adventure – camera in-hand and ready to go. Most of all, he loves teaching others and sharing the skills and knowledge he’s gained over the past 12 years of production experience on many award-winning projects.

When he’s not behind the camera or editing for his clients, Mr. Hout can usually be found working on his next narrative project or collaborating with other artists in Lynchburg’s growing film community. In addition, he also serves as the City Producer for the Lynchburg chapter of the The 48 Hour Film Project – an international competition whose winners screen at the Cannes Film Festival in France. Most of all, Mr. Hout takes joy in facilitating opportunities for students and other artists in Central Virginia to foster growth within the local film industry and beyond.

Mr. Hout is also a Certified Trainer in Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, and his editing portfolio includes a great variety of work – including 4 feature films and many trailers and commercials.
